Episode One: Genesis
7.59 Billion years from now, Earth will be swallowed whole by its main star, The Sun. Life on Earth will cease as it is met with a scorching fury. As Earth’s most elite move to distant planets, the original history of the world we called home will die off for the rest of eternity, forever wondering the emptiness of The Universe, begging to be remembered once more.
But there is one place that will thrive when this happens. Planet Oria. Planet Oria will be in its golden age with its blue rings of glory shining with an evergreen life, the deep purple of the planet will be the sign of its health as all Orians forget Earth… Remembering Earth is now banned… The year is currently unknown.
Four orphaned twelve-year-olds roam the abandoned ruins of a train long out of commission. “We should start heading back to the orphanage.” Orion says.
Aurora lets her waist-length blush-colored hair flow down her body as she walks on top of the train. Ares joins her and attempts to gain his balance, he sweats through his red locks.
Gemini says, “We should’ve gone to school today.”
“I only would’ve gone on a Saturnday if they would’ve taught us about Earth. But guess what? It’s illegal.” Aurora says, jumping down from the train.
“I think Orion’s right, we should head back. It’s boring here anyway.” Ares says, looking up at the sky as Olor sets and the sky prepares to turn royal purple, it is now Rono’s turn to shine through the night.
They all near the orphanage as Gemini whispers into Aurora’s ear, “Hey Rori, I heard there’s gonna be a bill passed by Queen Talia that makes museums about Earth legal.” The leaves crunching underneath their feet makes a mask so Orion and Ares don’t hear them.
“Legal? Earth? Are you sure you didn’t misunderstand, Gem?” Aurora asks Gemini, furrowing her brow.
“Yeah, and it’s gonna be broadcasted all over the planet tonight!” Gemini squeals from the back of the trail as Aurora looks in front of her to Orion and Ares all the way up in front.
“Okay, does that mean all the underground museums won’t have to hide anymore?” Aurora looks at Gemini.
“That’s right, but not only did The Queen enable them to open freely without getting into legal trouble, but earlier today I saw the news, and The Royal Government were building an official museum of their own.” Gemini exclaims in joy. “The only con about this bill is that it still doesn’t allow schools and other institutes to teach about Earth, but it’s a step forward.”
Aurora looks down at the soil beneath her, wondering if the museum would have a sample of the soil from Earth, or if Earth would have even had soil at all.
“Do you know if they would’ve been done by now, Gem?” Aurora’s strawberry pink eyes lit up with a sparkle of desire.
“I wouldn’t get your hopes up, but I think that’s what they said on the news…” Gemini replies slowly.
Aurora gasps deeply, “Oh my God, this life just took a turn for the better!”
Orion and Ares look back at Aurora and Gemini, they stop. “Is something wrong, Rori?” Ares asks in his deep, serious voice.
“What? Nah, I’m good, thanks…” Aurora kept walking with Gemini until they got to the orphanage.
Aurora, Orion, Ares, and Gemini are gathered in front of one of their Slates, they’re watching the news.
“Aurora,” Orion softly whispers as he sits near his dear Rori.
“Yuh-huh?” Aurora replies as she warmly looks into his eyes.
“I-I, uh, wanted to give you this for your birthday,” Orion pulls out a scarlet bracelet made of rope from his pocket. “Happy twelfth, Rori.”
Aurora looks down and smiles tenderly, she slips the bracelet onto her wrist and says, “It’s nice, it looks like Olor in the morning…” She says her thanks as the news reporter says the museum built by the government is now finished and will open tomorrow.
Gemini shuts off her Slate and puts it by her pillow, they all say their goodnights to each other as they finished planning their trip to the museum tomorrow.
During the night, Aurora lays awake, tossing and turning. She wondered about whether Earth had an atmosphere like Oria does, if it had water like Oria does, or if it had grass like Oria does. Aurora thought about how she and her friends yearned from the corners of their little hearts to let their feet touch the ground on Earth. But alas, it was not possible, it would’ve never been possible… She thought also about how she just wanted to run away from the lonely life she had. All the laws against Earth? It started to feel personal.
Aurora finally sat up in her bed. I can’t wait all night until morning comes. I gotta wake ‘em up tonight. Aurora stood from her bed, letting the sheets collect messily on the surface. She went to Orion first, shaking him gently to get the attention of his consciousness.
“Hey, wake up. Let’s go break into the museum.”
Orion sprung up when the sound waves hit his ear, “Did I hear you say what I thought you said, Rori?” Orion’s eyes were still pretty much shut as he sat up.
“Yes, let’s go break into-”
“What are you guys doing up this late?” Gemini sits up in her bed as well as she throws off the sheets.
“Can you guys go back to sleep?” Ares rubs his eyes uncomfortably, shifting his head on the pillow.
“Aurora, what’s this about sneaking into the new museum?” Gemini sits down with Aurora and Orion on the floor as Ares also leaves his bed.
“I wanted to break in tonight because I can’t wait until tomorrow, but I was also thinking about something else..” Aurora looked down in longing. She froze, but she sought this time to be pensive. “I wanna run away. I don’t like it here because I can’t have what I want, what we want. And I don’t care if we break all the laws or live on the edge or leave the planet entirely, I just want to have what we all want. What our purpose is in life. I just,” Aurora side-eyed Orion, “I wanna be satisfied…” Aurora looked back down, her eyes bared no weight, they were windows, only they didn’t hold anything on the other side.
“You wanna run away? Then let’s run away, but I want you to know that things will get dangerous throughout the journey, so if you do go through with this, we’ll be here for you all the way.” Ares rested his hand on Aurora’s shoulder.
“I’m also in.” Gemini told her dearest friend, putting her hand up.
“I want in too, Rori.” Orion finally responded.
“Let’s break in tonight…” Aurora exclaimed.
