Hello all, welcome to Fiction Friday! Bienvenidos to those who are new here, as we all are, and welcome to the first episode of this series.
So the way this works is I pick out a new batch of fictional stories every week, and on Friday, I review them. They get ranked by position, meaning, if I put “X” story in first place, that means that story was my favorite, and if I put it in last place, I liked it the least.
But don’t worry, we are all here to be constructive in our “criticisms”, so just because a story was placed in last place, that doesn’t mean it was completely horrible, it just had a few things to fix to be better next time.
I’m starting this series to help other writers gain insight into their writing, that’s all.
Anyway. Baby, let the games begin!1
Warning: Spoilers ahead for those who want to first read these stories for themselves and then come back to read their review.
In First Place, I present “Vârcola - A Dracula Styled Fantasy Story Arnfried’s Journal: Giplean 1st” by
. I liked it because it gives enough information without giving away everything, and therefore sacrificing the mysterious and scary elements of the story. I can’t wait to see more.In Second Place, we have a story by called “A Retelling of Sleeping Beauty”. I have a weakness for princesses (I’m still fifteen, ya’ know), but this one was surprisingly well-written. It was classic, but at the same time, I think there were a few things that were still unique. Just make sure to describe the world and environment better. I can tell there was some rushing with the world-building, but there’s always next time.
Moving on, in Third Place, we have “A Mandate Of Sword And Railgun” by
. The aliens were the part that made it good, because the beginning was a little boring, but the rest was okay I think. But I couldn’t really understand the dialogue, so instead of spelling out how they speak, maybe try writing the dialogue, and then saying something like, “They said with an odd accent”. Otherwise, good job, Black Knight. In Fourth Place, I give you “The theory of sugar madness” by
. It’s a cute little story, and I liked it especially because I’ve always loved baking, so to see it done like this in fiction, is really nice. The ghost, which was Deb I believe, was my favorite character. And the fact that she’s a Research Psychologist makes it even better because I’m currently Majoring in Psychology, so I can relate. Please give us more, Macey! Please! Make it a serial, I just want to see more of these characters! Finally, last but not least, in Fifth Place, I give you “The Invisible Hands” by
. The end was the best part for me, and I like the element of mystery at the beginning, it gives the audience that feeling of, “What happened off-screen before now?”. I say this because we don’t know what ‘The Sundering’ is yet, at the beginning.I hope you all enjoyed that. That was the first edition of Fiction Friday, and I just wanted to close with two things.
First, if you don’t know Christ you can seek him out with the link below. He Is The Way, The Truth, And The Life, so if it’s repentance you want, you’ve come to the right place.
And second, for The Song of The Day, I pick Cut To The Feeling by Carly Rae Jepsen
Anyway, I’ll see you soon enough in the next one!

You are in luck with Macy's story because I'm subscribed so I can confirm to you it is a serial. You will be getting more! =D She had some life stuff butt in, so she didn't post for a bit. Hopefully, it's all calmed down for her.
Oh ouah didn't think I'd get first place, I really liked this post, this was a great one A.M. Truly you approached this with a very unique style different from how I do it, I really like this.
Glad you liked the chapter with Arnfried, I like him as a character, and should see about editing the next chapter soon.
